Legendary Press – Submission Policy and Instructions
Submissions Agreement – Because we have the utmost respect for writers and artists and their personal ideas and creations, Legendary Press requires a submission agreement for any work submitted to us. This submission agreement exists to protect your ideas and creations as well as Legendary Press from any liabilities that may result from coincidental similarities between other submissions or works in progress by Legendary Press.
Any artist that submits samples based on un-published, original ideas, concepts, characters, etc. that they have worked on with another person must sign a submission agreement themselves and also have that person sign the agreement with them. So if you submit colors for something you did not pencil or ink, you must have the inker and penciller sign the agreement as well. The same goes for letterers, inkers and pencillers. If you are submitting work that has been published, you do not need to sign a submission agreement, but you do need to indicate when the work was published and where it can be found. In other words, you must cite your work.
Please be aware that Legendary Press does not have the resources to respond to every single submission that we receive. You should expect to be contacted only if an editor wishes to hire you for a project. Submitted samples will be retained on file for future reference. If a project develops that fits your skill set, an editor will contact you for employment.
If we have a project that matches your skill level and talent, we may contact you and ask for you to mail samples of your artwork to us. You will not need to sign another submissions agreement because we will retain your electronically signed consent to the agreement. Please do not send originals as we do not have the resources to return any originals you send to us.
We encourage anyone who has a passion for comic books to submit their work for consideration. Please continue checking www.legendarypress.com over the next few months as we continue our talent search and to see what great things we have in store.
Keep following your dreams,
Kash Cooper – Editor-In-Chief, Legendary Press
